The Ascension Saint Thomas OB/GYN Virtual Education series is designed to address practice gaps, such as providing appropriate support to the breastfeeding mother from pregnancy through weaning, that are created as the body of evidence-based topics in obstetric and gynecologic care evolves. It is designed to equip women's healthcare providers with strategies and clinical recommendations to meet these needs and provide optimal care for their patients.
As a result of participating in this activity, learners will be able to:
• Describe the importance of breastfeeding and breastfeeding education.
• Identify complications or risk factors that indicate the need for lactation follow-up.
• Recognize lactation resources and follow-up opportunities.
• Implement strategies to manage common complications with breastfeeding.
